@russianriverbrewingofficial Windsor, California in collaboration with @firestonewalker Paso Robles, California (Kellerbier / Zwickelbier - Kellerpils) ABV: 5.3% IBU: N/A RATING: 4.00/5.00 ️️️️ ME: Two of my California Favorites, of course it’s going to be stellar. THEM: STiVO is an unfiltered and dry-hopped Keller style pilsner brewed with our friends at Firestone Walker. Originally conceived in 2016 as a mashup of Firestone Walker’s Pivo Pils with our STS Pils, STiVO is a happily arranged marriage of both recipes, which were already quite similar except for the hop bill. We ultimately split the hops down the middle between Pivo’s German Saphir hops and STS’s French Aramis hops, both of which belong to the new wave of European hop cultivators. @firestonewalker @russianriverbrewingofficial #firestonewalkerbrewing #russianriverbrewing #stivo #beershare

And then there’s Larke.
Larke encounters one of humanity’s most mysterious inventions:
the garbage can.
She can’t understand why humans take perfectly useful materials—and especially food—and simply throw them away.
So she literally sticks her head into our garbage to investigate.
Eventually she discovers composting: what humans call garbage can actually become food for the earth.

Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Coronado, this WCIPA features a prominent passionfruit and strawberry character, complemented by a touch of dankness. Look for aromas of Kiwi, Juicy Fruit Gum, citrus and plum leaping out of the glass bolstered by a background of subtle pine and soft bitterness. Kirse might be one of my favorites conceptually.

Instead of assuming humans invented everything, Kirse asks us to notice how many brilliant designs already exist:
a spiderweb is a suspension structure.
A shell is armor.
Leaves create roofs.
Trees distribute enormous loads.
Bird nests are architecture.
Her challenge is basically:
What could humans copy from nature rather than fighting against it?
