(Beginner wing enthusiast hunting for killer wings.)
Last night, Leslie and I stopped by Topa Topa Brewing Ojai on our way to Nordoff Music Department Presents GREASE - A musical performed by students of Nordoff High School. (WHICH WAS AWESOME BTW!). We grabbed a few beers and ordered some wings from @littlesamaojai (restaurant inside Topa Topa Brewing). HERE’S WHAT WE GOT: Signature Wings - free-range mary’s chicken, sweet & spicy tamarind-soy bbq, cilantro, lime. HERE’S WHAT WE THOUGHT: Maybe, I was expecting too much. Topa Topa is always top shelf and these wings are one of @littlesamaojai signature dishes. $16 for 6 average to poor wings was disappointing. #wingshare

That’s one smooth DIPA. DAVID’S DESCRIPTION: Goatface Killa, DIPA, 7.8 ABV. Your first and only flagship beer in this offering. From the beginning, they wanted to make a variety of great beers and not conform by going “over the top” hoppy. This is that beer. FLAVOR: @staterbros (Stater Bros.) Smokehouse BBQ
PELLET FLAVOR: Oak, Hickory, Cherry
COOKING PROCESS: Smoked for 1.5 hours at 250, Fried in a cast iron pan for 3 minutes with just a bit of avocado oil.
RESULTS: New flavor at our local @staterbros . Some of the best wings I’ve ever had. MY REVIEW -> KILLER WINGS! @staterbros #smokehousebbq #wingshare.

Didn’t expect it to be so good, Wow! THEM: SMaSH (Single Malt and Single Hop) IPAs are simple creatures, allowing the true essence of ingredients to shine through. Occasionally, the simple begets the complex. Yellow Rose is brewed with this philosophy, creating a deliciously complex and irresistible IPA. Santa Anna knows…
